Career Change Program

This is an organized four step program through which you move efficiently into a more satisfying occupation.

Step One. We meet for a 50 minute one-on-one introductory consultation in which mutual understanding is created. I get to understand and appreciate you, your situation, your goals, and your tentative career plans. You get to understand the workshop specifics (personal processes, materials, workbook binder, contents and benefits) and feel fully supported by me.

Step Two. You receive four career assessment instruments as prework materials that you complete on-line and receive instant results. With these you assess your work values, skills, interests and personality. You begin to identify specific occupations and kinds of jobs that fit you and will provide you with high work satisfaction. In addition you get open-ended questions that allow you to identify the specific features and benefits of your dream job.

Step Three. You attend a weekend workshop Saturday 9 AM -5 PM and Sunday 2-5 PM. This is a small group (less than 7 participants) in which you get to review your prework materials with a view to challenge and validation. You'll learn conscious and unconscious problem-solving and decision-making tools. You'll go through five structured experiences that begin to move you from the career selection process through job search planning. There is a homework assignment in which you review your prework and the connections to the day's content, and prepare for the Sunday afternoon processes and content. You leave the workshop at 5 PM Sunday with your personal career deadline goals defined and specific action steps to achieve them.

Step Four. We schedule 3 - 4 follow-up meetings in which we review your completed action steps, what you have learned since the workshop and your plans for additional decisions and actions. These include your completed informational interviews, your resume, job search buddy, your growing list of supportive friends (network), job leads, and preparation for job interviews.
